Renties Ypres Rally
21st to 23rd June 2018
If the Ypres Rally 2018 had started in a heckled way, with the quick and brutal eliminations of Bryan Bouffier (Skoda Fabia R5) and Kevin Abbring (Citroën C3 R5), the following of the event was calmer, marked by the domination of Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul (Hyundai i20 R5) taking a bright revenge after the setback of last year. Accumulating the scratches, the duo, leader in WRC, won easily before the Skoda Fabia R5's of Vincent Verschueren (40"4), Kris Princen (49"1), Cédric Cherain (2'11"6), Sébastien Bedoret (3'05"9), Adrian Fernémont (4'01"1) and Hermen Kobus (4'20"1). The final top 10 was completed by the best British competitors Edwards (Ford Fiesta R5), Bogie (Skoda Fabia R5) and Cronin (Hyundai i20 R5), this last having lost everything at the end of the race.
Patrick Snijers has kept 15 seconds better on Chris Van Woensel in R-GT after a splendid fight between GT3 Porsches.

During the Renties Ypres Rally, the Belgian Juniors were able to face the best young British drivers of the Preston MSA British Rally Championship. At the forefront, the battle was particularly indecisive. But at the end, the victory is still returned once again at Grégoire Munster and his Opel Adam R2. After the quick retirement of Niels Reynvoet, the fight in the head opposed James Williams, the most quick British and his Vauxhall Adam R2, Joachim Wagemans, who is arguing the TER championship and use tires of another brand, and Gilles Pyck, the driver of Poperinge who had been the fastest at Tielt as part of the Junior BRC with his Peugeot. Sadly for the driver of Poperinge, the water pump of his Peugeot let loose at the end of the race. Grégoire Munster could celebrate his fourth victory in Junior BRC. Jean Dilley limited the damage in the championship finishing second in Junior BRC. Glenn Snaet savored his debut in the championship finishing 3rd before Valentin Vertommen and Jo Muylle.
